EFAC is Fully Booked!
Due to an unprecedented demand, registration for EFAC 2009 closed on 24th April when the last places were registered. This means that this year's tournament will be the largest field archery tournament ever held in Wales!

Whilst registrations is now closed, the WFAA has opened a reserve list. If any registered archers withdraw from the tournament, their places will be offered to those on the reserve list on a first come, first served basis. Archers who want to get listed on the reserve list should submit an entry form to the WFAA but DO NOT SEND PAYMENT. If places become available, we will invoice you at that time.

Thanks for your understanding.

Rising Star to Perform at Banquet
Up and coming Welsh singer and pianist Katie Salt has been booked to perform at the EFAC banquet and prize giving ceremony. Katie has performed at many venues in the South Wales area over recent years and has won acclaim for her singing and musical talents.

EFAC Entry List Filling Rapidly
March has seen a quickening of entries for EFAC. Entries have now topped 200 archers. The tournament has a capacity of 330 archers and it is looking like we will have a full house come July!

Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony will take place on the afternoon of Sunday 26th July in the town of Abergavenny. The ceremony will be preceded by a parade of the national teams. Starting at Abergavenny Castle, the parade will lead through the streets of the town to the Borough Theatre where the opening ceremony will take place.
Course Mapping Continues

Mapping of the EFAC courses continues as the tournament draws closer. The courses will all be laid especially for the EFAC and then dismantled after the tournament is finished. There will be 3 courses and the terrain is mildly hilly in some parts and flat in others. The courses are all situated in Tal y Coed Woods which is part of the Llanarth Estate.

Wales Expects!
The archers of Wales have waited a long time for this year’s EFAC and we are all looking forward to welcoming the archers of Europe to our principality. Wales is no stranger to large archery tournaments and the FITA World Field Archery Championships were held in Wales in September 2009 near Cardiff. However, EFAC 2009 will be the first IFAA tournament held in wales since 1980. The Welsh are famous for the welcome we extend to those who visit our country. There will be a welcome in the hillsides for you all come July!
